This feature will be based on the style of the glamorous celebrity interviews. It will combine with a set of photographs taken on a shoot co-directed by myself and student photographer Natalie Blight. These will be edited and work with the question and answer style article to paint a glamorous profile on Linda Blight, a 46 year old single mum studying for a degree. This article could also potentially fit with the 'Cosmo Inspires Real Life' profile features.

Rationale for fashion feature

The swim suit fashion feature piece is relevant to the market of Cosmopolitan and with summer on its way. The audience will be preparing to buy swimsuits and beach accessories ready for summer. I also thought a good twist for the feature would be to only include items from the high street or of affordable prices. If the reader has just spent a bulk of their savings on a nice holiday, finding swimsuits and accessories for the right price is vital.

Although this is not a story that your readers may be able to relate to, it is a subject that is not usually covered in mainstream media, and one that your audience may find interesting with its links towards a recent storyline in popular soap ‘Hollyoaks’. The soap recently saw young newcomer Jasmine Costello reveal that she planned to live as a boy, much to the shock of her family and community.

I think this feature would be attractive to your readers because of this link with ‘Hollyoaks’ and it is not a common feature theme, therefore it will be a fresh, new idea.
